myAPT Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 29, 2026 Last Updated: October 9, 2026

myAPT is owned and operated by MTC Capital LLC ("myAPT," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the myAPT mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

myAPT helps renters find apartments that fit their budget, timing, location, and lifestyle preferences. To do that, we collect information you provide, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited technical information from your device.

This Privacy Policy is not a rental agreement, brokerage agreement, or lease. If you schedule a tour, request an application, or move forward with an apartment, separate terms from a property, building, landlord, broker, or licensed real estate professional may apply.

myAPT is a technology platform that helps renters discover and evaluate apartment options. Certain leasing assistance, tour coordination, application support, related leasing communications, and SMS support may be provided or administered by Chicago Apartment Company LLC and its licensed agents. Some tour coordination, application support, leasing communications, or related apartment-search services may also be provided by other licensed real estate professionals or leasing partners. When that happens, we may share information as needed to support the service you requested, but those licensed professionals or partners may have their own legal obligations and business practices.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

We may collect personal information you choose to provide, including:

Please do not provide sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the specific request you are making. The Service is intended for apartment search and tour coordination, not for storing sensitive documents or highly sensitive personal details.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we may collect limited technical and usage information, including:

We do not collect your device's location, and we do not infer your location from your IP address. The app does not ask for device location permission. If you choose to enter a work address or neighborhood preference, we may use that information to estimate commute time or improve apartment matching. Apartment building coordinates may be used to show property locations, but those coordinates describe properties, not your device location.

We do not use this information to show every possible apartment. We use it to improve matching, keep the Service reliable, and help users find a smaller number of stronger apartment options.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from third parties when needed to operate the Service, including:

We do not control the privacy practices of third-party websites, app stores, properties, landlords, or other services that are not operated by myAPT.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

Apartment recommendations may be generated using preference data, app behavior related to matching, apartment availability data, and automated or AI-assisted systems. We may update the matching logic over time as the product improves.

We may create, use, and share aggregated or de-identified information for product improvement, business analytics, market research, industry insights, and similar purposes. Aggregated or de-identified information is not intended to identify you personally, and we do not treat it as personal information when it cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

3. AI-Powered Features

myAPT may use AI or automated systems to help collect renter preferences, interpret apartment-search criteria, and recommend apartments. Information you enter into AI-powered features may be processed to provide responses, generate recommendations, improve the user experience, and maintain safety and reliability.

We may use outside AI providers to operate these features. Based on our current setup, Anthropic is the primary AI provider for chat and matching-related AI processing, and OpenAI may be configured as a backup provider.

We do not promise that AI-generated or algorithmic recommendations will be perfect, complete, or free from error. Apartment availability, pricing, concessions, fees, and lease terms can change and should be confirmed before you make a rental decision.

4. How We Share Information

We may share personal information in the following limited ways:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with properties or partners for unrelated marketing without your permission.

Text messages in the myAPT SMS program are sent by Chicago Apartment Company LLC and its licensed leasing agents. Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent are not sold, shared, rented, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share aggregated or de-identified insights with business partners, properties, property managers, or other third parties, such as general apartment-search trends, demand patterns, amenity preferences, neighborhood interest, or product performance insights, where the information is not intended to identify individual users.

If you request a tour, application link, or similar apartment-search action, we may share the information reasonably needed to fulfill that request with licensed real estate professionals or leasing partners. For example, we may share your name, contact information, desired apartment details, move timing, and tour preferences with the appropriate licensed partner so they can help coordinate the request. Properties and property managers may receive renter information through those licensed partners when needed to support the requested tour, inquiry, or application process.

5. Advertising and Analytics

We use or may use first-party product analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Google Firebase Analytics, to understand how users find and use the Service, improve product performance, and measure service activity. These analytics help us understand core product flows, such as account creation, preference collection, apartment matches, match views, floor plan and video engagement, tour requests, and important error states.

Product analytics may also help us understand onboarding and account-sign-in flow performance, such as where users start onboarding, complete steps, request a one-time code, verify their account, or reach AI-powered search features. Our analytics event design is intended to avoid collecting phone numbers, one-time verification codes, free-text chat content, precise device location, or other sensitive values.

We do not currently use advertising pixels, retargeting tools, mobile attribution SDKs, or third-party advertising identifiers. The mobile app does not request Apple's advertising identifier or the Android advertising ID, and it does not show users an app-tracking prompt for cross-app advertising tracking.

First-party product analytics may be enabled by default where permitted by law and platform rules. Users may control certain analytics preferences where available. If an account is flagged as belonging to a minor, analytics may be disabled or limited regardless of the user's selection.

6. Push Notifications and Communications

If you enable push notifications, we may send messages related to your apartment search, including tour confirmations, tour reminders, match updates, search availability, and other service-related notifications.

Push notifications may be delivered through Expo's push notification service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android, and Apple Push Notification service for iOS.

You can disable push notifications through your device settings. Even if you turn off push notifications, we may still send important account, security, legal, or service-related communications by email, SMS, in-app message, or another available channel when appropriate.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, support your apartment search, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or misuse, and maintain business records.

Some service providers may apply their own retention periods. For example, Google Analytics may retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months, with the retention period reset when the user is active. Sentry crash and error reporting data is retained according to the applicable Sentry plan, currently 30 days based on the plan in use.

When information is no longer needed, we may delete, de-identify, or aggregate it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that personal information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.

Account sign-in uses our account system with SMS one-time codes sent through Twilio. Twilio may process phone numbers, verification codes, delivery data, and related message information as needed to provide SMS authentication. We do not need or want users to send verification codes or sensitive login information through support messages, chat, or other free-text fields.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

To make a privacy request, contact us at contact@mtccapitalgroup.com.

You may also request account deletion from the Profile section of the app. After you submit an account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify your account within 30 days, unless we need to retain certain information where permitted or required by law.

When account deletion is processed, we also request deletion of related analytics records from supported analytics providers, such as Google Analytics and Firebase, where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or business recordkeeping.

10. State Privacy Notices

Some U.S. states provide additional privacy rights. If those laws apply to you, this section describes the categories of personal information we may collect and how we use them.

Categories of personal information we may collect include:

We use these categories for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, matching renters with apartments, coordinating tours, improving the product, maintaining security, and complying with law.

We do not sell personal information. If myAPT later uses tools that are considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law or similar state laws, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required opt-out rights.

The Service is currently intended for users in the United States. App store availability and account registration may be limited to the United States, including through U.S. phone-number requirements. We do not block all foreign internet traffic, but the product is designed, distributed, and operated as a U.S.-focused service.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Third-Party Links and Apartment Partners

The Service may include links, listings, floor plans, videos, websites, application pages, building materials, or other content provided by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Apartment pricing, availability, concessions, fees, policies, and lease terms are subject to change and should be confirmed with the property, landlord, leasing office, or licensed real estate professional before you rely on them.

myAPT may help connect renters with licensed real estate professionals or leasing partners for tour coordination, application support, and related apartment-search services. Those services may be subject to separate brokerage, leasing, agency, or property-specific terms where applicable.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice, such as through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.
